Our 2025 Wedding Trend Predictions…

Happy New Year!!!

Okay, we’re a few days late, but we are so excited for what this year will bring, the places it will take us, the couples we’ll meet, and the weddings we will get to capture. We’re so excited to shoot at some stunning new venues this year and to travel to the Sunshine Coast (we’ve never been!) to capture an oceanside wedding in September.

As we were creating 2025 goals and reminiscing on the last year we spent capturing beautiful celebrations, we had some fun dreaming and thinking about what trends we predict for 2025. So we created this short list of what we expect to see this year. Here's a hint: 🌹☕️🎀🥂

If you’re a 2025 bride or groom, let us know if you’re planning to incorporate any of these elements into your wedding day.

  1. Red: In 2023 and 2024, the shift from muted colours to brighter colours started. This year, we think we’re going to see even darker, bolder colours (like red) in couple’s wedding palettes. We’re picturing roses, cherries, and brides in bold red lips for 2025. Red symbolizes love, passion, and energy, making it a perfect choice for couples who want to make a statement. We think we’re going to see couples add little touches and sprinkles of red throughout their wedding day this year, from bridesmaid dresses to table settings, flowers, and even in the groomsmens’ attire. Or hey, maybe a pop of red is hidden inside your cake?

  1. Espresso: We saw more espresso martinis this year than ever before. We think that couples next year are going to choose affogato and espresso stations instead of traditional cakes and desserts. Or maybe all of the above! How classy would it be for your guests enjoying a rich affogato or a perfectly brewed espresso shot as they celebrate with you? Not only would this be a unique (and appreciated) touch, but it would also keep the energy high throughout the night.

  1. Bows: Bows are back baby! Gowns, champagne glasses, hair accessories, chairs, cake… there’s no wrong place for a bow. From oversized bows on wedding gowns to delicate little bow details on invitations and table settings, this trend is all about adding a playful yet sophisticated element to the celebration. Bows can be incorporated in so many ways, such as bow-tied napkins, bow-shaped cake toppers, bow earrings, and even bow-themed photo booth props. Bows can easily elevate a simple place setting or wedding invitation suite into something more intentional, detailed, and sweet.

  1. Satin: Satin has always been a popular choice for brides, specifically in the 90’s and 2000’s. Many 2025 couples are leaning into this same nostalgic and elegant wedding aesthetic. The sheen of a satin gown + flash photography is a popular combination for modern brides who want timeless, film-like photos. We think couples are also going to incorporating satin into their decor in 2025, with satin ribbons, chair covers, and drapery adding a touch of vintage, old-school elegance to any space.

2025 Brides…we are SO curious if you think we’re onto something with these trends or not?! Are you planning for any of these elements at your wedding?
